The summer began with an annual trip in Lingham Lake with the Frankford Offroad Club ... 10 vehicles in all.

Curtis, Patti and Ric headed north on a perfect day. The water was down at the river  gooing into Lingham, but Johnson's Hole was deep. The trip in and out was uneventful. The Frankford Offroad Club wanted to explore a new spot ... McKnight Lake.

The 10 vehicles included 2 heavily modified "Jeeps" and Suzuki, 6 lightly modified trucks ...1 Toyota Land Cruiser (Curtis), 2 Toyota 4Runners(Ric), 1 new Jeep TJ, 1 Toyota Pickup, 1 Nissan Pathfinder ( it broke down), and a stock 4x4 Dakota ClubCab.

Like usual, Curtis got stuck. All the others made it through on the way back going the other way.

The Land Cruiser was pulled out by the little 4Runner ... again.

Johnson's Hole "PlayTime"

Cody's large "Jeep" using a shortened GM 3/4 ton frame and drivetrain, got stuck in the same spot as the opening picture in the 1st page and needed a pull out by this "Jeep" of Pauly's which has a Ford 3/4 drivetrain. The rest of us watched in humour.

Playing in the River ... and getting stuck.

Pauly and Cody headed down river looking for a "shortcut". They got about 100 feet before Pauly got stuck and this time Cody pulled him out. Lots of spectators in the bridge shaking their heads.

End of the Journey ... McKnight Lake

After coming out of Lingham Lake, we headed east down the hydro line about 2 km and then south. This part of the run had lots of deep water, steep rock climbs and a beatiful lake. A little AC/DC and ZZtop, some food and refreshments almost finished off the day. Ric and Jim led the way into the lake.

Highlight of the trip ... Pauly's reaction to the water and the weeds. I don't think he would feel safe in a pool !

Cruising the hydro line in and out. It is about a 4 hour run over to hwy 41 by Cloyne.
